About Me

I'm still trying to figure myself out. Luckily my Wonderful Maker has a user's manual for my life. Or else I would be dreadfully and hopelessly lost.

Psalm 27:13-14

I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Psalm 31:19
Thursday, April 8, 2010

"How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you."

It's been a while since my last post. It's not that I've been too too busy, it's just that I haven't felt like blogging. I've also gone a while without starting my day right, in His word.

But today I just couldn't take it any longer. The weather, probably, was what did it. I think that the extreme heat has been smothering. Yes, the sunshine makes everything gorgeous, but I am extremely intolerant of hot weather. It makes me cranky.

This morning I woke up and, as I was brushing my teeth, I realized that the hour that I have between waking up and my first class is a perfect time to be in the Word. The Spirit led me to Psalm 31, which happened to be right where some of my highlighting mysteriously stopped.

Because yesterday we were talking about Joseph during family group, I was particularly moved by this Psalm. It talks so much about God's deliverance and His goodness to us. What I really like about this verse is the part I italicized, "in the sight of men." God's goodness to us will be evident to others! Even when sometimes we do not recognize the hand of God moving in our lives, God's goodness is so powerful and overwhelming that even other people will see it in our lives and be in awe of His grace.

I think this is why starting the day in God's Word is so important!

Praise the Lord!
